Diagnostics device UD-01 allows to detect and eliminate probable failures in flow measuring channels of heat meters directly at installation of the meter

During installation, operation or repair in some cases there is a necessity of  detection of a faulty heat meter component. In general the set of a heat meter components looks as follows:

  • data processor (measuring unit)
  • interface cables (IC)
  • temperature sensors (resistive temperature transducers)
  • ultrasonic flow sensors (FlS) with flow measuring section (FMS)

In a heat meter it is necessary to make a difference between two types of measuring channels: the channel of temperature measurement and the channel of flow measurement. In most cases basing on device readings in  the main mode or due to system of self-diagnostics it is possible to determine the type of faulty channel

Searching for a faulty element in temperature measuring channel the user has no difficulties. Known methods of element diagnostics in temperature measuring channel (measurement of resistance of temperature sensors, ring-out of interface cables, connection of resistance box to the data processor, check of standardized statistical characteristic of resistive temperature detectors, etc.) allow to eliminate a faulty element

Troubleshooting in the flow measuring channel by means of traditional methods has no results. That is why necessary to take into account specificity of characteristics of flow sensor piezoceramics and also waveforms and signal swings

For this purpose the Device of diagnostics UD-01 is applied. It allows

  • To determine a faulty element in a circuit: the data processor - interface cabels- ultrasonic flow sensors
  • To control the serviceability of data processors of heat meters SVTU-10М
  • To control the serviceability of the temperature and pressure measuring channels for heat meters SVTU-10М

The device allows to make diagnostics in laboratory and directly on the object of installation with no dismantling of FMS, FlS and IC of heat meters SVTU-10M
