Power Backup Module
WHY DO WE NEED POWER BACKUP MODULE?
After heat meter installation the consumer concernes how long it will function witout troubles and supplementary equipment to save money. Unfortunately a periodic switching-off and failures in power line can occur.
Power backup module provides filtering of circuit disturbances, normalization of a level of mains voltage and also trouble-free work of meter SVTU-10M at periodic switching-off and failures in power line. Power backup module can be used as a power source for one or several meters SVTU-10M and also for the modem and actuators of regulating valves without supplementary reducing transformers.
Since February, 2004 SEMPAL has stopped release of own Power backup modules and offers power backup modules from foreign manufacturers (for example UPS for a computer). In this case operating time of SVTU-10М is about 8 hours at capacity of accumulator UPS 7 A/h and about 6 hours at capacity of the accumulator 4 A/h (at work only with SVTU-10M). While in connection to UPS an additional modem and two actuators of regulating valves the operating time decreases approximately 2 times. To get archive printouts it is possible to connect the printer to a power backup module.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE UPS MODEL
Many modern UPS models have power saving mode. However serial UPS are applied for work in modes with the heavy load. If there is no load or it is less than should be according to norms in operating mode with the storage battery then such UPS are switched off. Therefore it is necessary to choose UPS which is not switched-off having no load (no power saving mode). Such UPS are realized in models MUSTEK POWERMUST Office 360 (650) and also Apollo 1052F, Apollo 1060E (given models have been examined by SEMPAL).
CONNECTION TO SVTU-10М
To connect heat meter SVTU-10М to regular UPS SEMPAL provides adjustment of output UPS voltage for heat meter functioning.
